Ancient Esoteric Fern Medicine: Codes of Consciousness & Emotional Maturity with Ke’oni Hanalei
I'm not exaggerating when I say this is truly one of my all time favorite episodes— I encourage you to make some space and really dig into this episode!
Today we are taking you on an ancient esoteric—honoring Hawaiian voyage to immerse in the sacred wisdom teachings of these islands and its peoples with Ke'oni: the founder of Pōhala, esoteric Hawaiian botanical medicine.
Ke'oni is a descendant of the Mū people, the inhabitants of Northwestern Hawaiian islands before the migration of the Polynesians. Ke'oni comes from a long line of medicine holders, makers, and mystics. A vast majority of what he knows regarding plant medicine and distillation comes from this direct lineage!
His grandmother and female elders taught him the trade of plant extraction, and most of the methods he resources and medicine making remains loyal to these practices. Medicinals, including the oils, tinctures, hydrosols, and essences are gathered and honored in ceremony and thus extracted in small batches over a period of time—loyal to distinct moon phases, which place a botanicals specific house of power.
Ke’oni is one of just a handful of people in the world with this ancient knowledge. I’ve been blown away by these esoteric botanicals, and just knew we had to have him on the podcast.
